1. How can your online services be so affordable?

Our design styles are selected and coordinated in advance, thereby eliminating lengthy showroom visits. We ask you for some help on measurements, photos and design related questions so that we don't have to visit you and charge you for it. 



2.  Is my personal and financial information safe?  

Your privacy, security and trust is important to us.  We use only the most current and secure methods for online transactions and we never give or sell personal information.


3.  I have a tight budget. Can I afford spending money on a renovation?  

Large or small, our design takes your budget into consideration.  You will be asked to provide information about your taste, budget and design preferences and we will make recommendations based on the information you provide. Our options provide flexibility and our prices are pre-determined so there are no extra surprises.


4.  What is your satisfaction policy?

It is important to us that you are comfortable and happy every step of the way.  When we first meet we show you our tiles, paint colours and other pertinent finishes in the category of your choice.  There will be no surprises.  If you choose not to use our services after our first meeting we won't charge you for that first meeting!


5.  How do your services work?

Sophistique provides professional design services to clients who need help putting a design vision together without the heavy price tag so typical of custom design.  After an initial meeting we communicate via telephone and online.  You provide us with information about your spaces (rooms);  you select your design preferences, provide a budget and we provide all the details to improve the selected space. You receive your design package within 3 weeks via email.



6.  Will the Project Worksheet take a long time to fill out?

Our worksheet is not time-consuming,  but it is an extremely important part of the design process.  Most clients need about an hour to fill out the questionnaire not including taking photos.  This information lets us understand you and your home, gives us the critical details to ensure the design program compliments your taste and lifestyle.  Our worksheet, the measurements and your photos represent the basis for our design and they replace the typical home visit(s) of interior designers.


7.  I don't know what service to order.  Can you help?

Of course!  After you have reviewed our Room Packages and Design Styles and you are not sure what to do, call us or send us an email and we will be happy to answer any questions you may have to guide you.



8.  How long does it take to receive my room design?

Once we receive all of your information as outlined in the Project Worksheet, our turn-around time is three weeks. 


9.  What if I need my design service quickly?  Is there a rush service?

Yes, that is an option.  Please call us to discuss your need and we will provide you with further details and the cost involved in a fast-tracked service.  This is a great opportunity to have your space transformed before a fast approaching holiday or when you are expecting out-of-town guests. 


10.  I do not see custom design as part of your services.  Are there other design services available?

If you do not see the specific service you are looking for, send us an email or call us with a detailed description of what you want. We will get in touch with you to discuss personalized services. 


11.  How do you deliver the final design and what can I expect?

We email you your completed design program. 


12.  Does a designer visit my house?

That depends on your location. Typically the service is an online service with personal consultations for local clients.  We either meet in person to discuss your plans or we are available for telephone consultations. Please refer to our Room Packages for details.  If you would like full custom design services please contact us to discuss your needs.


13.  Do I need any design experience?

No that is not necessary.  We provide clear and detailed instructions that are easy to follow.  If you have any questions, drop us a line. 



14.  Can I choose more than one service?

Absolutely! You can choose as many of the services we offer. 


15.  How do you know the style I like?

We provide you with a questionnaire (our Project Worksheet) for you to fill out.  This questionnaire gives us an idea of what you like.  We encourage you to send us your ideas, inspirational photos or web links which represent your style.  Sometimes it is hard to describe a style, but most people can immediately identify it once they see it - that's why we also give you access to our current materials boards to select from.  You will know it when you see it. 


16.  What photos and measurements do you need?

We will do a site measure during our first consultation.  We also require photos of the spaces you need assistance with. Photos from different angles allow us to better visualize the space.  You will provide us with photos yourself. We will ask you to take photos of critical walls, windows, doors and other important elements in the space. You will be guided by our directions and diagrams. We may ask you for additional measurements once we have started.  We will also ask you about any pieces of furniture or furnishings you wish to keep and you will provide us with dimensions of these pieces.  


17.  I want to keep some of my existing furniture.  Can you work with that?

Yes, we can integrate your existing items into a new design. We request that you provide us with a photo of each item you want to keep and the measurements of that item. 


18. Can I ask follow-up questions relating to my design? 

Please feel free to contact us after our work is done. We'd love to get your feedback and happily answer any questions you may have about the design. We strive to be helpful and friendly. We trust you will love the results!


19. Does your style advice follow current interior design trends?

Yes!  We are passionate about interior design and its trends.  We are always sourcing new products, learning and applying.  Our pre-selected packages are updated 2-3 times per year. We also customize our suggestions to your needs, so whether you want the latest and greatest or tried and true design, we can help create your ideal space based on your dreams.
